7月26日，由武汉临空新城及BIGHOUSE联合举办的中国当代雕塑三十年艺术展启幕。在艺术家们的倡议之下，同步启动2016新锐雕塑艺术家作品征集，共计收到来自全球1000多件参赛作品，最终经专家评审团并综合大众评审，票选出50余件获奖作品，将摆放于新城之内，与城市公共空间完善融合。
